Our Little Snuggle Bunny

Well, today is Tuesday....23 days before Rachel turns the big 1.0! Sniffle:) I put this fluffy sweater/jacket on her to do a Target run at 8:30 AM today, and it instantly brought back memories of when she was only a few months old. B/c she was born right before winter, most of her early days were filled with fluffy, fuzzy pink clothes. Plus, this fluffy pink sweater covered her hair....reminding me of her balder days where we got lost in the blue eyes and chubby cheeks. While we still enjoy those sweet cheeks and eyes, the hair has made her continually seem older to us. So, it's nice to be reminded of those early days every now and then.

"What is the deal w/ that silver thing (aka camera) in Mommy's face all the time?"

"Keep singing, keep singing...maybe she won't notice you trying to pull your shoe off"

"Now look up and smile and you can yank it off!"

"And of course, we can't forget the bunny face!"

And, this is a sight we shall see no more.....we threw out all of Rachel's binky's last Tuesday. Binky weaning has gone pretty well. She skipped her morning naps on the first 2 days, but all in all, she's been a trooper. At least we no longer have to play the game of binky retrieval....Rachel throws binky out of the crib before falling asleep for her nap or nighttime, eventually Rachel starts fussing, and eventually Ben or I go retrieve the binky and set her back up for sleep....hoping that would be the last time that night. She wasn't too bad about this, but we had some times where it was reminiscint of the first 2 months when you wished you could prop her up against something so that the binky would stay in her mouth long enough for her to fall asleep. The game had its funny moments, but it wasn't too cool when she dropped it outside the crib on the sides that are next to the wall....since that required moving the crib w/ her in it to retrieve Binky. Sometimes, that caused her to laugh, as I'm sure it seemed like an amusement ride to her. Well, those games are no more for Rachel, and we are officially binky-free:)

Glad to hear the binky weaning is going well! I just love her bunny face! I'm going to have to see it live sometime!

Congrats on the binky weaning! And I love the sweater/fleece...we may be copying you, as Kathryn's in the market for one! Target, eh?

Lisa - we didn't actually get it at Target but she wore it to Target. So, I'm not sure where this one came from, since it was a gift.
