It was a little difficult for me (Ben) since this was the first time we put her into an outfit with a dress, stockings, and shoes. She is growing up so quickly and looks like a little girl. I think I'm more of a fan of the onesies because they don't really offer a glimpse of things to come as she grows older.
She did great in church (probably due to her sleeping for 8 and 1/2 hours last night). In the main service, we studied Matthew 23 and Christ's response to the religious hypocrites. Normally, we think of the contrast of hypocrisy as "consistency", but Christ shows that the contrast is really "humility". We also looked at how everyone is following something or someone (God, money, success, praise, etc.), and that following anything or anyone other than God, only leads to destruction. The religious hypocrites were too concerned with cleaning up their outward appearance, while still sinning in the heart.
Our pastor ended with a great exhortation that "we should not confuse the praise of men with the approval of God. God approves us not because of our obedience or good works, but because of Christ's death and resurrection". I don't think Rachel fully got all of that from the message, but she has truly been a blessing for us.
